The pace of lowering emissions is too slow to meet upcoming targets, according to a new report.
Modern diesel and petrol cars have far lower CO2 emissions than they did a decade ago.
That's according to midlands motoring expert, Bob Flavin, who says a modern line of diesel emits "near enough water" and petrol plug in hybrid EVs are "nearly counted as zero emissions".
It comes as an SEAI report found that, despite energy-related emissions in Ireland's carbon budget falling annually by 1.9%, the pace is still too slow for set emissions targets.
