Coronavirus: 4,209 Positive Antigen Tests Logged Online

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 10,753 new cases of Covid 19 with PCR tests - and 4,209 positive antigen tests logged online.

Meanwhile 965 Covid positive patients are being treated in hospitals - a slight increase on yesterday, with 88 confirmed cases in ICU.

The Chief Medical Officer is advising close contacts and those infected with covid to use higher-grade face masks.

Tony Holohan is recommending the use of medical grade masks instead of cloth ones, after 19,961 new infections were confirmed.

This includes 14,555 new PCR confirmed cases and 5,406 positive antigen test results from people through the HSE portal.
