Daft.ie has released the latest rental figures.
The cost of renting in the midlands is continuing to rise.
Latest figures from the Daft.ie rental report for Quarter One of 2020 show a 4.7% increase across the region.
Tenants in Westmeath are still paying the most on average at €1,016 per month.
That's an increase of 1.5% in the first quarter and over 6% on the same time in 2019.
But those renting in Laois have seen the biggest percentage rise in the last 12 months at 7.3%.
That puts the median cost of leasing a property in the O'Moore County at €1,002, up 1.3% in the first four months of 2020.
Offaly remains the most affordable in the region with an average cost of €935 a month.
Though it has the joint highest quarterly jump in Leinster, along side Kilkenny and Carlow at 1.9%.
The year-on-year change in the Faithful County was 5.7%.
Just 520 properties were listed for rent across Leinster in April, the lowest figure since records began in 2006.
