The childcare sector is holding a national day of action, to highlight the financial crisis facing the sector.
It comes as providers prepare to close their doors from September 26th to 28th in protest against spiralling costs that are threatening their viability.
The Federation of Early Childhood Providers is warning the decision by its members to close will affect 90,000 children and their parents.
The organisation has nearly 200 sitting members in the midlands - 70 in Laois, 69 in Westmeath and 52 in Offaly.
