The plans include two extensions totalling almost 5,000m2.
A decision on a major extension to a midlands school is due next week.
Castlepollard Community School is seeking planning permission for two, two to three storey extensions, totaling nearly 5,000m2 in size, which will include general and specialist classrooms, a special education needs unit, a PE hall and a library.
The planning file also proposes refurbishments to the main school building, and involves the demolition of an existing extension on the main building, and the removal of prefab classrooms.
The existing play area would be removed, if given the green light, and replaced with two multi-use games areas, a courtyard, an amphitheatre and an SEN play area.
A decision from Westmeath County Council is due on Wednesday.
