The WHO has changed their guidelines to one metre social distancing.
A midlands public health specialist says the World Health Organisation's advice on physical distancing is not absolute.
The WHO now considers a one metre is adequate to limit the spread of covid-19, and the government here is facing calls to change its guidelines.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohon says it's too early to talk about lifting any further restrictions.
Dr. Una Fallon, Director of Public Health Medicine in the midlands, says the virus is transmitted through droplets and the two metre guidance is a good way of preventing that:
Offaly Councillor John Leahy questioned social distancing measures haven't been reduced to one metre.
The Independent rep believes the two metre causing unnecessary havoc and says the Chief Medical Officer is being unbelievably arrogant.
