It's part of a €20 million fund for retrofitting social houses across the region.
€10 million is being set aside to help retrofit houses in the midlands.
€3.3 million is being allocated to each local authority in Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, Kildare and Longford.
A further €1.11 million each is going to Roscommon, Galway and Tipperary County Councils.
It's part of a €20 million fund from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government.
