Projects that are set to benefit include engineering developments and micro enterprise.
Four enterprise projects in the midlands are to receive over 700 thousand euro in funding.
It includes a quarter of a million euro going towards a development for midlands engineering projects.
Another 150,000 euro will aid micro-enterprises in the region that wish to market their product internationally.
It's all part of a new 2.5 million euro investment from the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation - and will involve collaborations between Local Enterprise Offices in Westmeath, Offaly and Laois.
