The Retina World Congress is taking place in Dublin.
Everyone should make a habit of getting their eyes checked at least once every two years.
That's the advice of Mountrath man Séan Byrne, who lost his vision as a result of congenital glaucoma and scarring on his corneas.
He's speaking as the Retina International World Congress is being held in Dublin, with the final day of the event tomorrow.
He was diagnosed with the condition at just 3 months old, and the scarring came as a result of surgery he had to treat it.
Mr Byrne says everyone's journey is different, and glaucoma can be a very treatable condition, especially if discovered early:
