Families should not spend more than six months in emergency accommodation, according to a new cross party report.

The Family and Child Homelessness study warns of the danger of children becoming institutionalised if they stay too long in a hotel or hub.

It also recommends the practice of forcing people to leave temporary accommodation during the day, should be ended.
