Paddy Fitzpatrick, from Laois, died after suffering a bleed on the brian, while recovering from the operation.
A fundraising night is taking place this Saturday in the Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix to support the family, who will walk 100km from the Mater Hospital back to the town next month.
