Farmers At Their Wits End Over Agri Department Treatment - ICSA

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association is reporting mistreatment from State officials.

"Arrogant" officials from the Department of Agriculture are unfairly persecuting farmers across the country according to the ICSA.

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association says its members feel "powerless and distressed" after department inspections.

Inspections that lead to the discovery of regulation breaches can lead to the withholding of farm income supports with repeat offences bringing increased penalties.

The ICSA says inspectors are targetting specific farms in bad faith.
