Fianna Fáil is seeking an investigation by the state's ethics watchdog into how Fine Gael uses public money at government events during election campaigns.
Offaly out-going TD Barry Cowen, says it's wrong for the government to run advertisements, such as a recent notice containing details of the upcoming rise in the minimum wage.
He feels the government is abusing its power and Leo Varadkar shouldn't be taking political shots, while representing the country at events in the capacity as Taoiseach.
