Over €30,000 was paid in fines last year.
The amound paid in Garda fines for driving without an NCT in the midlands jumped by 21 per cent last year.
439 offences were recorded in the region in 2019 - resulting in €31,830 paid in fines.
That compares to 350 offences or €25,290 in fines in 2018 - according to Freedom of Information files.
Nationally, 6,000 motorists were punished for driving a car without an NCT last year.
