A man has appeared in court accused of strangling a woman at an address in Laois.
The Irish Independent is reporting the 28 year old appeared before Portlaoise District Court accused of assault causing harm and non-fatal strangulation.
The alleged offence took place on October 15th 2024 at an address in Laois, with a book of evidence served to the court.
The judge gave the defendant an alibi warning, and the accused was remanded on his own bond of €200 to the next sitting of the court, with the case being sent forward to October 27th.
