An Offaly weather forcaster is predicting snow could fall across the Midlands this Friday.
Cathal Nolan of the Midland Weather Channel says its due to an intense cold weather system moving in from the northwest.
It could bring upper air temperatures to between 10 and 12 degrees below average for this time of year.
However he doesn't think any snowfall will be too heavy:
