It's part of an operation to combat travelling criminals.
Five people were arrested in Laois this week, as part of Operation THOR.
They were detained for serious offences, including burglary and assault, following a number of searches by gardaí on Wednesday and Thursday.
One person was charged and remains in custody, files are being prepared for the DPP on the other incidents.
Earlier in the week, gardaí seized a car in Mountrath after the driver tested positive for Cocaine and Cannabis.
Uniformed gardai supported by local Detectives and the Regional Armed Support Unit are also conducting checkpoints in rural areas of Co. Laois as part of this operation to combat travelling criminals.
