A former Mayor of Westmeath County Council and Athlone Municipal District Councillor will be laid to rest later today.
Egbert Moran, who served as a Fianna Fail Councillor for 14 years, passed away on Thursday at the age of 83
His funeral mass took place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan.
