A former midlands councillor is making a comeback.
Edenderry's Fergus McDonnell is putting his name on the ballot paper for the Local Elections later this year.
He says he has became a member of the Independent Ireland Party.
He served on Offaly County Council and Edenderry Town Council.
Mr. McDonnell has been speaking with Will Faulkner on the Midlands Today Show and says a number of candidates will be contesting the Local and European Elections later this year:
