Ireland ranks number one for the highest number of Green Flag sites.
Four midlands parks have been awarded a Green Flag this year.
The international accreditation, which's operated by An Taisce, recognises high-quality parks and green spaces that are managed in a sustainable way.
Páirc and Phobail in Portlaoise; People's Park, Portarlington; Lloyd Town Park in Tullamore; and Mullingar Town Park have been recognised.
Ireland ranks number one, across the 16 participating counties, for the highest number of Green Flag sites.
