The fundraiser has been set up to support a refugee from Gaza and his family.
A Go-Fund Me set up for a Palestinian man who was the victim of an alleged assault in Westmeath, has almost reached a target of €4,000.
The incident is believed to have taken place in Athlone shortly before 7pm on Sunday December 15th.
He was treated for his injuries at Portiuncula Hospital which were believed to be non-life threatening.
It's believed that he was staying at the IPAS centre in Lissywollen.
