Laois' Padraig Walshe passed away suddenly yesterday.
His funeral mass will be held in the Holy Trinity Church, Durrow on Monday morning at 12.00 noon.
The father of four served the farming community since he was elected as President of Macra na Feirme in 1987.
Minister Charlie McConalogue says Padraig was a strong advocate for the family farm model and he represented all sections of farming with commitment & distinction.
He says his thoughts and prayers are with Padraig's wife Ella and all the family.
