There's a heavy garda presence in Tullamore today as the victim of a stabbing in Kerry last week is laid to rest.
Over 100 mourners gathered at the Church of the Assumption for Thomas Dooley's funeral Mass this morning.
The 43 year old died after being stabbed while attending a funeral at Rath Cemetery in Tralee last Wednesday.
Mr. Dooley's wife Siobhán, who's originally from Tullamore, was also injured during the incident.
A Kerry flag was draped over the coffin as it was carried into the church.
Midlands 103's Ellen Butler described extent of the garda presence outside the church this morning:
Parish Priest of Tullamore, Fr. Joe Gallagher - who celebrated Mass - said Siobhán and her children would remain in everyone's prayers at this difficult time.
Mr. Dooley's coffin was then brought to Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore on a horse-drawn carriage, followed by a procession of mourners.
A large number of gardaí also gathered at the graveyard, including members of the Armed Support Unit and Mounted Support Unit in riot gear.
The garda helicopter also monitored the funeral from above.
Investigations into the circumstances of Mr. Dooley's death are continuing.
Four people have now been arrested in relation to the incident, including Mr. Dooley's brother and cousin, who've both since been charged.
