The unit housing the equipment, which was installed in Regional Hospital Mullingar a year ago, has been closed since Monday as hospital management seek further clarification from the HSE on staff matters.
Fianna Fáil Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy has contacted the Minister for Health on the issue and expects it to be resolved imminently.
