Gardaí Carry Out Searches As Part Of Investigation Into Murder Of Ashling Murphy

The 23-year-old teacher was killed on Wednesday.

Gardai have carried out a number of searches of premises in Tullamore and Dublin as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of school teacher Ashling Murphy.

The 23 year old was killed on Wednesday as she jogged along the banks of the Grand Canal in Tullamore.

Gardai have identified a new person of interest in the case however no details have been shared.

According to the Times newspaper Gardai have also reportedly obtained DNA and fingerprints from a forensic examination of a mountain bike they seized on Thursday.
