14-year-old Calum Kavanagh has been missing from Athy since Wednesday.
Officers are appealing to the public for assistance in finding the teenager, who is described as being around 5ft 6" in height, with a slim build, light brown hair and blue eyes.
When last seen, he was wearing a black rain breaker jacket with brown jumper underneath and tracksuit bottoms.
Gardaí say his family are also concerned for his welfare.
