The incident happened last night just after midnight.
Gardaí are investigating after a motorist in Laois drove through a check point without stopping.
The incident happened last night around 12:10am along the Dublin Road at the fire station.
The vehicle then collided with a parked car on Dr Murphy Place, and is recorded as driving in an extremely dangerous and wreckless manor.
The vehicle is being described as a dark coloured BMW 520 or 530 and was also seen driving along the Stradbally road before making its way onto the Dublin road again.
Anyone who may be able to help identify the car and the driver is being asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station.
