The incident occurred at a home in Tullamore on Sunday night, at around 10.30pm.
A local residents group is advising people to be on the lookout for suspicious activity following the damage.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward, and are asking anyone with information to contact Tullamore Garda Station.
