A number of towns in the region will get a glimpse of Cannonball this weekend.
200 supercars will be blazing through Offaly today.
Charity event, Cannonball, will leave Johnstown Estate in Enfield this morning, before completing a lap in Edenderry from around 11am.
That kicks off a three day journey across the country, which will take them to Circle K on the M6 Athlone on Sunday for refuelling, before finishing the spectacle in Trim in Meath that evening.
For the second year in a row, Cannonball is raising funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation, having raised over 1.6 million euro for various charities so far.
Organiser and Founder of Cannonball Ireland, Alan Bannon, says the event brings a lot of excitement:
Heavy delays are expected in Edenderry with the return of the event.
Gardaí are urging motorists to be aware of traffic diversions, with cars coming from the Tullamore Road set to be diverted up Killane, where they can make their way along the Link Road.
Sergeant at Edenderry Garda Station, Adrian Phelan, says there will be a number of roads blocked off during the duration of the event:
