Today marks a last chance saloon for Presidential hopeful Gareth Sheridan.

The millionaire pharma entrepreneur needs the support of two county councils to secure his nomination to enter the presidential race.

Kerry and Tipperary are backing Mr Sheridan however Carlow has declined to support his candidacy over the weekend.

Offaly and Westmeath county councils are set to make their decision today ahead of the nomination deadline on Wednesday.
