Government Working To Attract New Business After Leprino Closure In Laois

132 jobs are set to be lost due to the closure of the factory.

The Enterprise Minister says they are working hard to support those affected by the closure of a cheese production factory in Laois. 

Leprino Cheese are set to cease manufacturing operations in their Portlaoise plant in the second half of 2026, with 132 jobs set to be impacted in the area. 

Efforts are being made to attract a new buyer and business to the site because of its location.
