A Guard from Offaly has received a commendation for rescuing a woman from a river in Dublin.
Garda Ciara Galvin, and her colleagues Brendan Crawford and Ciaran Murray who stationed in Clondalkin, were given Certificates of Commendation with Distinction for Excellent Police Work’ from Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy.
The three officers helped Ann Lamb and her dog Millie from the River Camac in Knockmitten Park, Clondalkin last week.
Four year old Evan Fleming and Grandfather Alan Fleming were also recognised today for their instrumental role in the rescue.
