The Western European Hedgehog is under threat from people and vehicles.
The humble hedgehog is being threatened by humans and roads.
That's according to Biodiversity Officer in Offaly County Council Ricky Whelan, who is making the comments after the Western European Hedgehog has made the updated Red List of Threatened Species.
They're now at a "near threatened" level - meaning they're close to becoming extinct.
Mr. Whelan says there's various ways to protect hedgehogs include wildlife corridors and offering food to them when they're in back gardens:
