High Speed Broadband Set For Laois

The 30 metre telecommunications mast will be at Trumera GAA Club.

People in a Laois village could be set for new high speed broadband after plans for a new mast on the grounds of a GAA club have been approved.

The 30 metre telecommunications mast at Trumera GAA Club near Mountrath, will provide improved 2G, 4G and 5G coverage, along with high-speed wireless internet for residents, businesses and road users.

The mast will enhance connectivity in the area, including along the nearby M7 motorway and railway line.

Laois County Council approved the development subject to conditions, with the mast positioned to minimise its visual impact.

The tower has also been designed to accommodate future operators, reducing the need for additional masts in the area.
