The Justice Minister says the site will be home to a Centre of Excellence
The Justice Minister has given assurances the decision to house refugees at a former midlands army barracks, won't interrupt plans to repurpose the site.
Columb Barracks in Mullingar had been selected as the preferred site for an centre of excellence for electric vehicle management in March of last year.
There are concerns a recent decision to accommodate 120 asylum seekers in tents at the barracks had thrown those plans up in the air.
But Minister Simon Harris says Mullingar will be home to a Centre of Excellence:
