Up to 60 workers at an Edenderry plant have been diagnosed with the illness.
The Chief Medical Officer says NPHET hasn't looked at ordering meat processing plants to close, despite 600 positive cases from the facilities.
It's believed 15 staff members from the industry have been hospitalised, which has led to calls for mandatory temperature testing.
Up to 60 staff have tested positive in Rosderra Meats' factory in Edenderry in recent days.
