IFA Welcomes Sean Kelly’s Lead Role In EU CAP Environmental Report

The MEP will draft CAP, food safety, climate, and animal welfare policy for 2028–2034.

An Irish MEP will take the lead on reporting on the environmental impacts of the new Common Agricultural Policy for the European Parliament.

Sean Kelly has been appointed rapporteur for the new CAP in the Environment Committee. 

The Ireland South MEP will compile key reports, including the committee's policy positions on CAP, food safety, climate, and animal welfare for the period of 2028 to 2034. 

President of the Irish Farmers' Association, Ballinakill's Francie Gorman, is happy the Fine Gael MEP is in favour of retaining a separate CAP funding stream to support rural farmers:
