Illegal drugs and cigarettes worth over €26,000 have been seized at Athlone Mail Centre.
Revenue officers discovered 880 grams of herbal cannabis in routine operations today.
They were discovered in 35 separate pacels, originating from the UK and the US.
13,500 cigarettes were also seized in 30 parcels originating from China and were declared as items such as 'playing cards', 'plastic rulers' and 'jigsaw'.
They have a retail value of €9,000 euro, representing a loss to the exchequer of over €7,000 , and were destined for addessess in Dublin, Kildare, Carlow and Tipperary.
Investigations are ongoing in relation to the seizures.
