They're raising money for the Colm Horkan Memorial Pitch and Community Walkway.
A Valentine's Day fundraiser set up by Irish soldiers in Syria has gone global.
Members of the 6th Batallion in Athlone are among those organising virtual 5k, 10k and half marathon runs, in memory of Garda Detective Colm Horkan, who died in the line of duty last year.
Initially, the idea was to hold a co-ordinated event in Syria and Detective Horkan's native Mayo - however, 3,000 people around the world have since signed up to take part.
