Jack has retained the top spot as the most popular baby boys name in 2019, a position it has held since 2007 except for 2016.

In The Midlands the most popular boys names were Jack and Conor in Westmeath, James, Jack, Conor and Daniel in Offaly and Jack In Laois.
For girls Grace is the most popular girls name in Westmeath and Laois while Anna is the top girls name in Offaly.
Doireann and Méabh have broken into the top 100 names for girls, while Odhrán and Joey were new entrants for boys in 2019.
Less popular names for boys include Teidí, Saul and Dexter, while the less popular girls' names included Féile, Kyrah and Constance.
