Mr. Puska was called to the witness box yesterday, after the prosecution closed their case.
Jozef Puska will continue giving evidence in the Ashling Murphy murder trial this morning.
The 33-year-old Slovakian native, of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Offaly, has pleaded not guilty to her murder.
At around half 3 yesterday afternoon, prosecuting barrister Anne Marie Lawlor told the Central Criminal Court she had closed her case.
Shortly after, Defence Counsel Michael Bowman said they would give evidence, and called the accused Jozef Puska to the witness box.
He told the jury through an interpreter that he traveled from Mucklagh to Tullamore on the morning of January 12th 2022 – the day Ashling Murphy died.
He denied following a woman walking her dog – later named as Anne-Marie Kelly – adding that he was cycling behind her but didn’t have ‘bad intentions’.
He'll continue giving evidence this morning.
