The Labour Party is calling for better pay for midlands workers in the community healthcare sector.

Employees from so-called 'Section 39' organisations that provide services for the HSE are not entitled to the improved terms negotiated in the new national pay deal.

The government won't oppose a motion lodged by Labour in the Dáil last week, with the Workplace Relations Commission expected to make a judgement on the issue.
