A new public car park is planned for Glasson.
The Minister for the Office of Public Works is in the Midlands today for the official transfer of land at a Garda station to Westmeath County Council.
A new public car park is in the offing for people in Glasson after land adjacent to the station has been handed over for community use.
The proposed car park is currently in the design stage.
Minister Kevin Boxer Moran says the new ammenity will "create a safe environment" for people to access town services.
