Laois IFA Hold AGM To Demand Bord Bia Chair’s Resignation

Mr Murrin's company, Dawn Farm Foods, has been importing beef from Brazil.

Farmers are gathering in Laois tonight to call for the resignation of the Chair of Bord Bia.

Demonstrations against Larry Murrin moved to the Agricultural Minister Martin Heydon's constituency office in Newbrige over the weekend along with ongoing protests at the Bord Bia headquarters in Dublin.

Laois IFA is holding its AGM tonight in Abbeyleix at 8pm calling for a motion to be put forward at council level.

Mr Murrin's company, Dawn Farm Foods, has been importing beef from Brazil, but insists the product makes up less than 1% of its beef supplies last year.

Portlaoise farmer Liam Delaney says there's momentum building as farmers are not being listened to:
