He's hoping to replace party colleague Ivana Bacik in the Upper House.
A Laois man is in the running to become Ireland's next senator.
Eoin Barry - who's the Labour Party's area rep in Laois - is hoping to fill the vacancy left by party colleague Ivana Bacik, who was voted into the Dáil in July.
The Wolfhill native is a social worker and family therapist, and previously ran in the 2019 local elections.
He'll be vying for a spot on the Trinity College panel in the upcoming Seanad by-election.
He says improving mental health services is one of the issues he's most passionate about:
I’m running for Seanad Éireann.
