The resident passed away on Monday at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
A fourth resident of a Laois Nursing Home has passed away from COVID-19.
Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home says the resident passed away on Monday at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
The person was one of 31 people who had tested positive for COVID-19.
Two of the deaths occurred within the nursing home itself and two residents passed away in the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
The Portlaoise nursing home says their Family Liaison Officer is available to all families and is providing support where required.
The management, staff and community at the facility are expressing their sincere sympathy and condolences to the families and relatives of our deceased residents.
The nursing home continues to work closely with Public Health, The HSE and HIQA.
They are also thanking their hard-working staff and say they are continuing to provide selfless and tireless dedication in the care of our residents.
Management is also acknowledging the medical support given by Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
They say they have received a lot of goodwill, support and kindness from the local community and local businesses and they are humbled by the generosity and kindness of so many people who have sent their best wishes during these difficult times.
