The annual event is designed to recognise and celebrate the good work of young people - aged between 13 and 21 - in the community.
The four categories include a Special Achievement award for a person who has defied the odds to overcome a difficult situation and a Community Safety award recognising a crime prevention initiative that has contributed to making a community a safer place to live and work in.
Portlaoise Inspector Jane Ryan says the winners will be announced at a ceremony in the Killeshin Hotel on March 23rd:
