Carol Nolan highlighted two Midlands schools in need of funding.
Special schools around the country have been operating in a state of near permanent crisis for many years, according to a Laois Offaly TD.
Independent representative Carol Nolan is calling for further funding to be provided for private therapists in special schools, as well as overall reform of the children's disability teams network.
She highlighted Offaly School of Special Education and Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise and aspects of the current framework making conditions worse for such schools.
