Midlands TD Says River Shannon Agency Bill Has Been Delayed Too Long

The act would create one agency to oversee the management of the Shannon water systems.

The lack of co-ordination around the administration of the River Shannon means "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing". 

That's according to Laois-Offaly TD Carol Nolan who says it's imperative the government action the River Shannon Agency Bill selected for the Spring List of Priority Legislation for 2022.

The act, which would create one agency to oversee the management of the Shannon water systems, had previously featured on the summer and autumn lists in 2021 but wasn't enacted.
