A midlands TD made the accusation ahead of Sinn Féin's motion of no confidence in the Justice Minister.
Claims Sinn Féin is seeking a Christmas General Election is a "load of hot air," according to one of its midlands TDs.
The accusation was made by Laois Offaly Fine Gael Deputy Charlie Flanagan, in light of Sinn Féin's motion of no confidence in the Justice Minister.
Helen McEntee's role has been called into question in the past, as a result of the handling of riots in Dublin last month.
The Government is expected to comfortably defeat the motion.
